Protocol Education are recruiting for learning support and teaching assistants to work in schools across Sunderland.
Although applications from all candidates with experience of working with children will be considered, this position would be highly suited to Science Graduates and aspiring Science Teachers.
If you are a recent graduate in Science and keen to gain more experience in schools before undertaking a teacher training course then we want to hear from you.
The successful candidate will support pupils aged 11-16 with their learning. They will provide academic support in Science and other subjects across the curriculum. You will also be responsible for supporting students to manage their own behaviour in lessons.
There will also be the opportunity to cover the class in the absence of the teacher. All the work will be pre-planned and set for you by the subject teacher. You will be responsible for covering the ensuring pupils understand the tasks that have been left for them to complete, managing behaviour in the classroom and reporting any safeguarding concerns. You may provide lesson cover in Science or throughout the curriculum.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
