About the Role
We are seeking confident, reliable, and proactive Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools across Chorley. This rewarding role involves supervising classes in the absence of teaching staff, ensuring students remain engaged with pre-planned learning activities, and maintaining a positive and productive classroom environment.
The successful candidates will have strong communication and behaviour management skills, the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff, and the confidence to lead classes across a variety of subjects.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise classes and ensure students complete work as directed
- Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and instructions
- Maintain a safe, organised, and positive learning environment
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Record attendance and report any concerns or incidents
- Provide feedback to teaching staff on lesson outcomes
- Support wider school duties and administrative tasks when required

We Are Looking For Someone Who:
- Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or is willing to obtain one
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Is confident managing groups of young people
- Can remain calm under pressure and make decisions independently
- Is organised, adaptable, and dependable
- Has experience working with children or young people (desirable but not essential)
- Demonstrates professionalism and a strong sense of responsibility

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
