Position: Sports Coach.

Location: Chorley.

Start date: May 2024.

Contract type: Full time (Monday-Friday, 8:30-4:30) (temp-perm).

Pay rate: £12.82 - £13.50 per hour.

An excellent specialist provision in the Chorley area is looking for an enthusiastic Sports Coach to join their team from May 2024! This SEMH provision provides extensive support to pupils aged 5-11 with SEMH needs, speech, language and communication difficulties, and autism. This warm, welcoming provision ensures that every child has the opportunity to achieve their full potential through consistent encouragement, a caring, stimulating and challenging environment and providing a wide range of extra-curricular activities.

As a Sports Coach, you will play a crucial role in providing 1-1 support to pupils with additional needs, through learning through sport and outdoor activities. You will deliver tailored sports sessions and alter your approach according to the pupils individual needs. Classes will be small and you must feel comfortable and confident when facing challenging behaviour. You must have a good knowledge of SEMH and be patient and passionate about working with children with additional needs.

Role requirements:

  • Sports/Physical Education related qualification.
  • Relevant experience supporting children with SEMH.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management techniques.
  • Empathy, patience and a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents.
