Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit an established and experienced Learning Support Assistant or Cover Supervisor for a Secondary School in the Milton Keynes area.
ASAP start and full-time commitment required between 8:30am - 4pm.
We work in partnership with an Ofsted rated ‘Good’ Secondary School in the Milton Keynes area, commutable from Central Bedfordshire and surrounding areas of Northampton, who have an “outstanding” Individual Needs department. The school is situated just outside the Milton Keynes area (MK3).
As part of joining the school as a Learning Support Assistant, you would be responsible for supporting the learning and development of KS3 and KS4 age pupils (age 11 to 16) who have additional needs and some SEN. You would become part of an established team of LSA's who work in a separate department on the school site. You will aid the learning of the core subjects and social and emotional aspects of the individuals learning as they require additional support on a 1:1 or small group basis.
You would be widely supported by the SENCO and Assistant SENCO as part of this position.
Those joining the school in a Cover Supervisor capacity would be expected to cover sessions across the curriculum or within a specialist subject area if this is applicable. This would be an ideal role for candidates looking to train as future teachers.
The role is a full-time contract and you must be able to commit to 8:30am - 4pm. Ideally the role starts as soon as possible, however a flexible start date is an option for the right applicant and the role would continue until the Easter break (April 2022), with the likelihood of extension based on your suitability to the role during this time.
Are you suitable?
Ideally, you will have previous experience of working in a school/care setting supporting a young person and have an understanding of the educational needs of young people. You will also have a good level of literacy and numeracy (GCSE passes in English and Maths), a flexible approach to your work plus a resilient positive character.
A background working with SEMH or SEND pupils at Secondary level and the ability to commute to Milton Keynes via car is desirable.
Graduates are welcome to apply as entry-level is welcome, with some experience working with young people or children again desirable.
We look forward to hearing from you!
