Role Overview:

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the teaching and learning process within the school. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Classroom Support: Assisting teachers in delivering engaging and interactive lessons, providing one-to-one or small group support to students who may require additional help with understanding concepts or completing tasks.

  2. Resource Preparation: Helping to prepare teaching materials, resources, and equipment for lessons, ensuring they are tailored to the curriculum objectives and support the diverse learning needs of students.

  3. Individualised Support: Providing targeted support to students with varying abilities, including those with special educational needs or English as an additional language, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve academic success.

  4. Behaviour Management: Supporting teachers in implementing positive behaviour management strategies and techniques to promote a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive.

  5. Assessment and Feedback: Assisting in the assessment of students' progress and attainment, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to the monitoring and evaluation of students' academic development.

Requirements:

  • A degree in any subject from a reputable university.
  • A passion for education and a desire to make a positive impact in the lives of young people.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience in supporting students facing academic challenges or additional needs.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work collaboratively within a team environment and respond to the diverse needs of students and teachers.
