Are you considering a career in teaching?

Our two-year Salaried Teacher Training Programme provides an opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience, earn a salary, and work towards Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).

Designed for graduates and career changers, this programme offers a structured route into teaching. You'll spend your first year working as a Cover Supervisor, developing classroom confidence and behaviour management skills before progressing into formal teacher training in your second year.

  • Earn a salary of £23,000 - £26,000 throughout the programme.
  • Gain practical classroom experience before beginning formal teacher training.
  • Remain within the same school throughout the two-year programme.
  • Complete a fully funded PGCE and work towards QTS.
  • Receive ongoing mentoring and professional support from experienced school staff.
  • Follow a clear pathway into a long-term teaching career.

Your first year will focus on gaining practical experience within a school environment and developing the foundations needed for a successful teaching career.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects.
  • Supervising pupils and maintaining a positive learning environment.
  • Supporting pupil engagement and achievement.
  • Developing classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Building positive relationships with pupils and colleagues.
  • Gaining an understanding of school systems, routines, and policies.
  • Working alongside experienced teaching and support staff.

This year allows you to experience life in the classroom before progressing into teacher training.

Following a successful first year, you will begin your formal teacher training while continuing to gain practical experience in school.

You will:

  • Plan and deliver your own lessons.
  • Develop effective teaching and assessment practices.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback.
  • Work closely with an experienced mentor.
  • Complete a fully funded PGCE.
  • Work towards Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Prepare for your first role as a qualified teacher.

We are looking for individuals who are committed to pursuing a career in education and are keen to develop their skills within a school setting.

Applicants will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in any subject.
  • A genuine interest in teaching and education.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good organisational and time-management abilities.
  • A positive and resilient approach.
