Graduate Cover Supervisor/Aspiring Future Teacher
Start: November 2021
Contract: Full Time, Part Time and Adhoc positions
Salary: £70-£80 per day depending on subject and prior experience
Teaching Personnel work with schools in Seaford seeking to recruit graduates for a November start to work on an adhoc basis supporting teaching and learning as a graduate cover supervisor. They are particularly interested to receive applicants from mature or recent graduates of curriculum based subjects such as English, Maths, Science, History, Geography and Modern Foreign Languages. These are exciting schools to work for, especially if you are keen to explore teaching as a career.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be tasked to cover lessons in the absence of the usual teacher, delivering lessons across the entire KS3 and KS4 curriculum. Whilst you do not need to have expert subject knowledge in every subject, it is strongly desired that you have a good academic record in addition to your degree including A*-C in English and Maths especially. The school is seeking excellent communicators for this, individuals who can ensure that all pupils can access their learning and can work collaboratively with departments to ensure the smooth running and handover of lessons. It is important that individuals have a natural ability to lead and have a good classroom presence; confidence to implement school polices such as behaviour with a firm but fair approach.
The schools will endeavour to offer you as many lessons in your specialist area to start the journey of teaching and will commit to your professional development. You may also be required to offer 45 minute intervention sessions in your subject area for students who need that extra little bit of support in closing the attainment gap.
If you are a graduate this year, or from a previous year and want to take the leap into the world of education, teaching and learning, please submit your application today. The school can consider all levels of experience from fresh out of university to a mature graduates seeking a career change.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
