Graduate Cover Supervisor – Durham Secondary Schools
Long-Term, Competitive Daily Rates, September 2026

Teaching Personnel is recruiting graduates for Cover Supervisor positions across secondary schools in Durham from September 2026. If you've recently finished your degree and you're considering a career in education, cover supervision is one of the most direct routes into the classroom — no teaching qualification required, just confidence, reliability, and the ability to manage a room.

You'll be supervising classes across a range of subjects, delivering pre-set work, and keeping students on task. It's a role that gives you genuine day-to-day classroom experience and a strong foundation for teacher training or further roles in education further down the line.

What the role involves:

  • Supervising classes across KS3 and KS4 and delivering pre-set work
  • Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining high expectations
  • Following school procedures and providing brief feedback to staff
  • Building familiarity with students and staff over time

What you'll need:

  • A degree in any discipline
  • Confidence and a professional approach in a classroom setting
  • Reliable, adaptable, and a clear communicator
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one

What Teaching Personnel offers:

  • Competitive daily rates
  • Weekly pay via PAYE
  • Dedicated consultant support
  • Free CPD and training
  • A clear pathway into TA, HLTA, or teacher training roles
