Cover Supervisor - Durham Secondary Schools

Day-to-Day & Long-Term Placements | Competitive Daily Rates | ASAP Start

Whether you're a recent graduate taking your first steps into education or someone with existing classroom experience looking for a new opportunity, Teaching Personnel has Cover Supervisor roles available across secondary schools in Durham - and work is available immediately.

Cover Supervisors are a vital part of how schools operate, and the demand for reliable, capable individuals across Durham is consistent. That means genuine flexibility - day-to-day bookings if you want variety, or longer-term placements if you're looking for something more settled. Both are on the table, and we'll work around what suits you best.

What you'll be doing:

  • Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment
  • Supporting the continuation of learning in a teacher's absence
  • Building familiarity with Durham schools and staff over time

We're looking for:

  • Graduates in any discipline, or individuals with existing experience in a school or supervisory setting
  • Confidence managing a room and keeping students on task
  • A reliable, professional approach
  • Strong communication skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

What Teaching Personnel offers:

  • Competitive daily rates
  • Weekly pay via PAYE
  • Flexible working - day-to-day or long-term, your choice
  • Dedicated consultant support
  • Free CPD and training
  • A pathway into teaching assistant or teaching roles for those looking to progress
