Our partner school based in the North of Hampshire just off the A3 are seeking to recruit a Cover Supervisor to join their existing support team. The purpose of the role is to support the continuity of teaching and learning in the absence of a usual class teacher. Whilst a Cover Supervisor may cover a range of subject and subject knowledge is not essential, all of their Cover Supervisors aim to inspire and motivate students to endlessly engage in their education.

You will be responsible for:

  • Supervising classes and managing classroom engagement
  • Covering lessons with a lively approach that promote enjoyment and continuation of learning
  • Delivering lesson plans left by the usual class teacher with good time keeping management
  • Helping students as best you can by responding to questions and promoting guided discovering learning
  • Taking registers and logging any behavioural issues accordingly
  • Implementing the schools behaviour policy to promote a safe and stimulating learning environment

When cover is not required, you will be tasked to support teachers in lessons as a learning support assistant, act as an exam invigilator and support the wider school with administrative tasks.

An ideal Cover supervisor will have a genuine desire to work in education, enjoy working with young people, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to build excellent rapport with students and staff alike. The role is suitable for a graduate seeking to gain experience before applying for a teacher training programme, a teacher who wishes to take a step back from full teacher responsibility, a sports coach, teaching assistant who wishes to take the next step in their career or someone who has experience working/leading groups of young people. Full training will be provided.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
