They deliver a tailored curriculum, drawing on primary and secondary approaches to meet each learner's individual needs.

This is far more than a support role. It's an opportunity to build meaningful relationships, provide consistency and encouragement, and help young people develop the confidence, skills, and resilience they need to thrive.

The Role

As a Behaviour Mentor & Learning Support Practitioner, you will:

  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with ALN and trauma-related needs.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships that promote engagement, wellbeing, and personal growth.
  • Support pupils in managing emotions, developing coping strategies, and making positive choices.
  • Work closely with teachers and support staff to deliver personalised learning programmes.
  • Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment where every pupil feels valued and supported.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and celebrate individual achievements, however small.

What We're Looking For

We are seeking someone who:

  • Has a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people.
  • Demonstrates patience, empathy, and resilience in challenging situations.
  • Can build strong professional relationships and maintain consistent boundaries.
  • Works effectively as part of a collaborative and supportive team.
  • Is committed to helping every child achieve success, both academically and emotionally.

  • Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service (support available if required).
